The second scene in Macbeth it starts at a military camp near King Duncan’s castle, Duncan asks a solder about the news of the battle. The invaders are being led by someone called Macdonwald. In the text we can see that he is a rebel, as conformed by this quote” the merciless Macdonwald-worthy to be a rebel”.

This is the second scene where we are given a description of Macbeth, rather than actually meeting him. Why is this? What do we learn from this description?
